Description

A comforting and tasty dish combining juicy chicken, savory marinara sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for busy weeknights or special family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, beat the eggs. In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the chicken on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.

Notes

For a crispier texture, broil the chicken for a few minutes after baking. You can substitute the marinara sauce with your favorite tomato sauce or pesto for a twist.
