Description

A crunchy and flavorful chicken dish with a salty pretzel crust and creamy mustard-cheddar sauce, quick to prepare and perfect for easy dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In one bowl, place the flour and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk.
  4. In a third bowl, mix the pretzel crumbs with half of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Dip each chicken breast into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the pretzel crumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  6. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  8. In a small saucepan, combine the mustard and remaining cheddar cheese, heating over low until the cheese is melted.
  9. Serve the chicken with the mustard-cheddar sauce on the side.

Notes

Crush pretzels finely for better adhesion. Pat chicken dry before coating. Use a wire rack on the baking sheet for a crisp crust.
