Description

Ingredients

  • 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 sleeves (about 60 crackers) Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (additional, for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)
  • 1 cup frozen peas (thawed, optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced celery (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. If not already cooked, prepare chicken by seasoning and baking or using rotisserie chicken.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, mayonnaise, and melted butter.
  4. Mix in poppy seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth.
  5. Fold shredded chicken into the creamy mixture, adding optional peas or celery if desired.
  6. Transfer the chicken mixture to the baking dish, smoothing the surface.
  7. Combine crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter, additional poppy seeds, and garlic powder, mixing until coated.
  8. Spread the cracker mixture over the chicken base and cover with foil; bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  10. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving, garnishing with fresh chives if desired.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken for convenience. Don’t skip the resting time for better serving quality.
