Description

Delicious Korean Glazed Chicken Drumsticks with a sweet and savory glaze, perfect for any night.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, ground ginger, sesame seeds, and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken drumsticks and sear each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, pour in the glaze mixture and bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the chicken drumsticks to the skillet and coat them with the glaze.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and the glaze is sticky and caramelized, basting halfway.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, marinate the chicken in the glaze for a few hours or overnight before cooking.
