Description

A quick and easy dish combining savory garlic and honey flavors with crispy fried chicken, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp ground thyme
  • 2 tsp ground sage
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 4 eggs
  • 8 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 34 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • Canola oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to 1/2 inch thickness.
  2. Sift together flour, salt, black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, thyme, sage, cayenne, and paprika in a bowl.
  3. Make an egg wash by whisking eggs and water in another bowl.
  4. Season chicken with salt and pepper, dip into flour, then egg wash, and coat with flour again.
  5. Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain cooked chicken on a wire rack before immersing in Honey Garlic Sauce.
  7. For the sauce, heat olive oil, add minced garlic, and cook until soft.
  8. Add honey, soy sauce, and black pepper; simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  9. Alternatively, bake chicken at 425°F for 15 minutes, flip and bake another 10-15 minutes until crispy.
  10. Dip chicken in sauce and serve with noodles or rice.

Notes

For healthier options, bake instead of fry, and customize sauce with preferred spices.
