Description

Tender chicken drumsticks in a rich, creamy garlic sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks (about 2 lbs / 900 g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth (240 ml)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (50 g)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the drumsticks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and sear the drumsticks on all sides until they are golden brown. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, thyme, and parsley. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the drumsticks to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with rice, pasta, or potatoes.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the drumsticks in garlic and herbs for a few hours before cooking. Substitute half of the heavy cream with sour cream for a richer sauce.
