Description
Tender chicken drumsticks in a rich, creamy garlic sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 chicken drumsticks (about 2 lbs / 900 g)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth (240 ml)
- 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml)
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (50 g)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the drumsticks with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet and sear the drumsticks on all sides until they are golden brown. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, thyme, and parsley. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Return the drumsticks to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with rice, pasta, or potatoes.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the drumsticks in garlic and herbs for a few hours before cooking. Substitute half of the heavy cream with sour cream for a richer sauce.
