- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and fry until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same pan, lower heat and add honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the crispy chicken back to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate chicken in soy sauce and ginger for 30 minutes prior to cooking. Substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different version.
