Description

A creamy and spicy buffalo chicken dip that’s perfect for parties, game days, and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds cooked chicken breast or rotisserie chicken, shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Tortilla chips, for serving
  • Celery sticks, for serving
  • Carrot sticks, for serving
  • Crackers, for serving
  • Sliced baguette, for serving

Instructions

  1. If using raw chicken, season with salt and pepper, bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, cool, then shred.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream and beat until smooth.
  3. Add buffalo wing sauce, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper; mix well.
  4. Fold in 3/4 cup cheddar and all mozzarella, add blue cheese if using.
  5. Fold in shredded chicken until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, top with reserved cheddar.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with green onions and serve warm.

Notes

For a spicier version, add jalapeños or cayenne pepper. You can make this dip in a slow cooker for convenience.
