Description

This baked Huli Huli chicken is sweet, savory, and easy to make with a delicious soy and brown sugar marinade.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the marinade.
  3. Add the chicken thighs or drumsticks to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
  5. Place the marinated chicken in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
  6. Optional: Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a caramelized finish.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy your Hawaiian-inspired dish!

Notes

Pat the chicken dry before baking for better browning. Use a meat thermometer; chicken is done at 165°F (74°C). Save extra marinade, boil it, and brush on chicken while baking for more glaze.
