Description

A delicious and comforting dish combining tender chicken breasts with crispy breadcrumbs, savory marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing it onto the chicken to adhere.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spray lightly with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can add some crushed herbal crackers to the breadcrumb mixture. Use homemade marinara sauce for an even fresher taste.
