Description

  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • Cooking spray or oil mister
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry and marinade in a buttermilk mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the seasoned flour coating in a shallow dish.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Dredge the chicken drumsticks in the seasoned flour mixture.
  5. Arrange the coated drumsticks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  6. Cook at 380°F for 12 minutes without opening the air fryer.
  7. Flip each drumstick and cook for an additional 10-13 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. If desired, increase the temperature to 400°F for an extra 2-3 minutes for crispiness.
  9. Let the drumsticks rest on a wire rack for 3-5 minutes before serving.
