Description

Juicy, tender air-fried chicken breasts infused with smoky BBQ flavors and a homemade seasoning blend, ready in just 20 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (68 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and season with salt, pepper, and the BBQ seasoning blend.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Cook the chicken for 7 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5-8 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. While cooking, whisk together barbecue sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar.
  7. Brush the chicken with BBQ glaze during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer and ensure chicken is of even thickness. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
